This is great! I guess I am a homesteader too, but I'm from Canada. We also had a big list of things we wanted to find in the perfect spot, but we ended up looking internationally to find it, because one of our requirements was to be able to grow our own food, and the growing season in Canada was just too short. We ended up moving to Belize and getting an off grid place with 50+ acres, an orchard, a creek running through it and satellite internet because I was running a web site design business back then.
Now I am in Guatemala, starting from scratch building a sustainable property and living off grid. I look forward to more of your posts and maybe I can share some of my experiences too.
