110 Gallon Home Made Rain Barrel System.

in #homesteading7 years ago

Built this rain water catchment system a few years ago. we were given theses two 55 gallon barrels form a friend that works at a water bottling plant. Being a little worried at first about what was stored in the barrels. We cleaned them out real good and decide to use them any way. I had no problems with my plants that was watered out of this system.

The materials that I used to build this system was PVC, PVC cement, two 55 gallon barrels, hose spigot and some pallet wood. It was a simple design and quite easy to put together. It surprised me on how quick they would fill with water. Had to drill a over flow whole on the barrel so the water had some where to go when it was full.

Hope you enjoyed this short video!!
