I'm Going To Grow A Bonsai Weeping Willow Tree

in #homesteading3 years ago

Now that we have a farm I'm super excited at all things I can grow! I've ordered apple, plum, paw paw, pear, and cherry trees.
I also ordered 500 strawberry plants, tons of seeds for vegetables, and some assorted decorative plants.

My very first new plants to arrive ready for planting are these babies...

Cuttings For Bonsai Weeping Willow trees!

I'm not typically someone who has house plants. I prefer growing useful plants that grow food. I randomly ran across a Bonsai Weeping Willow cutting for sale online and I thought they looked so pretty I decided it would be a fun project.

I bought one cutting, but the seller was really nice and sent me four. The directions said to put them in water and wait until roots start to grow. Then move them into dirt.

I don't know how long it'll take to see results but I'm happy to have plants again. It was a long, cold winter and I'm happy to slowly get back into gardening. My trees and strawberries will arrive later this month so I have a lot of work to do to get ready for them. It's very exciting!

Hey there friend,
I came looking for you today...
How's the homestead going?
😄😇😉

Hi, @marxrab,

Just checking in again. Are the bonsai growing? What's new at the good ol' homestead?

Your friend,

@creatr

Sorry for never responding. The bonsai died. They did really well all summer but at Christmas we hit -1 and it killed my bonsais and roses I planted out in the yard. Their root system wasn't deep enough I guess for the big freeze.

Ah,

So sorry for your loss!

😄😇😉
