This past week, our annual fall feast brought in another amazing camping crowd but this time was different. This year, the talk did not revolve so much about drama on facebook or youtube, the attention was on STEEMIT! Almost every family this year had someone who was registered and actively posting on the STEEM Blockchain!
I found that amazing and then thought to myself that this might be the largest Steemit meetup so far in North America. This event may have actually been the largest Steemit crowd TO DATE in the western hemisphere.
HOW AMAZING!
The week was a giant party and campers spent a total of 10 days on the farm learning about our off grid lifestyle and getting hands on tips for gardening, livestock, alternative energy production, chickens, water catchment and so much more! This "fall feast" is actually commanded in the Bible in Leviticus 23:34.
At last count, a total of 31 Steemians were involved with our fall feast this year in the American Ozark Mountains! Some of them I could not list as I couldn't read their writing on the page where they signed in. But here are the names of those whose pages I found.
@hvnlyhills.hmstd, @jaredwcoad, @beatitudes8, @beardo, @jeejee, @elainasjoy, @onedevotedlife, @essentialoilmom, @dwells, @jacoblesterread, @randomstuff, @jal627, @scotthutslar, @boyd7, @sarahread, @shalomacres, @datrndmhomsteder, @humblebeets, @mericanhomestead, @thehomeschoolkid, @hansjurgen, @papa-pepper, @mama-pepper, @little-peppers
During the week, we had a couple of classes on how to successfully navigate Steemit and how to be successful at posting. We talked about how to cash out earnings and reputation scores among so many other Steemit related topics.
A couple of Steemians really wanted to attend but could not because of the birth of their new baby. Instead they sent gifts!
@ironshield and @lturner sent these gifts that included some cherry wine and green coffee beans!
At our classes, the wife of @beatitudes8 took down the names of the Steemians!
One of the highlights of the week was the arrival and sharing of information from some of the most popular folks on Steemit! THE PEPPER FAMILY! Pictured is @papa-pepper, @mama-pepper and @little-peppers. Like always, @papa-pepper was quick to give out friendly advice for new steemians!
A couple of Steemians pause for a picture. @randomstuff and @humblebeets
The week was fun and filled with all kinds of activities. At night, the wine flowed and everyone had a safe but wonderful time! Pictured here is @jeejee and @onedevotedlife.
Pictured here is the camp. Total count of folks in attendance was around 100 people!
We will be posting more pictures and video of the rest of the weeks activities coming up so stay tuned! Do you know of another Steem meet up? Was this one the largest to date? I can't believe it will be long before Steemit meet ups will be even larger than this one. STEEM IS GROWING!

Looks like everyone had a great time...and let's face it, how many of us are on Steemit in the first place because of a very enthusiastic endorsement by @mericanhomestead ? We certainly are! Thanks for the shout out and we hope you guys enjoy the cherry wine as much as we have even though it's probably a little more on the sweet/dessert side from what you usually have - and we thought the jam would be fun to send since it's one thing our tiny urban homestead produced this year. @ironshield has really been enjoying the knife that came in the mail, by the way - thank you!
It would be a huge blessing to meet your family sometime!
Likewise - it has really been enjoyable to be able to "watch" what your family has been up to and to see the joy you have in being together.
Yeah the wine was delicious! We shared it around! :) I have yet to try the jam but will soon! I'm sure it will be wonderful. Hope to see you guys at some point in the future!
That's great to hear! We've sort of been rationing our bottle here, which is funny since it's not hard for us to get more. There are actually four or five other Traverse City cherry wines easily available that we want to try yet, but this was our favorite so far. Well, our top favorite was a cherry port that came from Leelanau instead of Traverse City, but we haven't found a good way to get it over here yet. We hope there will be a chance to see you again in the future too! We definitely missed everyone this year and it was really nice to see all the pictures.
The wine was really great as a base for sangria! Yum!!
Largest gathering of Steemians? Yeah, this might actually be the largest! Glad everyone had a good time this year. @ironshield
Missed your family! Maybe another time!
What a great gathering!! For years we have been hoping to join you in feast days 3 to be exact, but always wind up with too many numbers to travel, praise yah!! It's super exciting to see that many steemians all together!! I'm glad you had a wonderful time and looking forward to seeing the photos! We also had a great time, unfortunately I didn't tke many pictures for sharing... I guess when your phone doesn't have service, you just assume it's useless!!
Thanks for sharing your wonderful visit with us!!
Thanks for commenting! We will be posting more pics throughout the week. I know you will enjoy them!
I will so much!! Did you guys ever try building a sukkah out of some crops from your homestead? We gave it a shot, next year will be better!! We used corn stalks and hickory planks. The wood was too hard to get enough screws through and we wound up strapping it to a trailer to make sure it wouldn't come down! Next year though, I've got better plans!! The kids enjoyed tying the corn up and painting on it though! We used some glow in the dark paint, very cool come sundown!!
We usually just build our tents and sometimes attach parts of leaves but we have a spot that every year the teens build a type of Sukkah.
I love reading about (and attending!) Steemit meetups! Your fantastic turnout made my day, and that the event combined two of my favorite things, Steemit and homesteading, is just awesome! So glad you had a great time😊
It WAS a wonderful time and so excited to see so many friends jumping on Steemit. I'm really looking forward to Steemit coming out of Beta. Thanks for your comment!
We really had a great time! @mericanhomestead, you were a great host. Many, many great memories were made for our family. Thank you!
Sounds like a good time was had by all. Next year you need to host a Steemit event so there are no doubt no matter how small about why people are attending!
Beep! Beep! This humvee will be patrolling by and assisting new veterans, retirees, and military members here on steemit. @shadow3scalpel will help by upvoting posts from a list of members maintained by @chairborne and responding to any questions replied to this comment.

Looked like the Steemians were having a great time! Hope to participate some time in the future. God Bless Y'all!
yeah, i've gotta get my Steemit education on. Recommended vids/articles for my education since I missed the Steem clinic? ;)
That is awesome! I wish I could have attended, or even stopped by for a day to personally thank you for introducing me to Steemit. There are so many great and wonderful people here that sharing a plethora of information about homesteading, farming, gardening, live stock, etc., etc.
From what I have read and watched, it is more personal too. I love it! Zac, thank you again!
We had an amazing time learning and meeting new friends. Thank you @mericanhomestead for putting it all together and allowing us to be there.
Check out this Sweet potato I dug up when we got home. First time growing them here. https://steemit.com/gardening/@beatitudes8/monster-sweet-potato
