We have had this lemon tree for a while now and it seems that it has paid off, its time to reap the rewards and collect the fruits of our labor.
If you have kept up with the efforts we have been putting into the garden and getting it up to scratch you may have seen this guy in the back ground doing its thing.
We tend to keep this guy on the fringe of the watering/irrigation system as it does not need to be watered as much as the rest of what we are growing.
We have managed a good few handfuls of lemons so far but this is the most we have seen, guess he must be happy with his spot and amount of water.
you may also notice there is a rogue basil plant in there as well, that little guy migrated without a visa, but was doing so well we decided to let him be for now.
We left a couple of lemons on the tree as they had a little more to go before being ready, and to be honest we have far too many to be able to use right now... but we make use of all we can get ;)
So far we have made lemon drinks, sliced them and had them in coronas (beer), tequila shots (sick, sip, suck), cooked with fish, made lemon gelato... but what else can we do with these lemons? feel free to drop some suggestions below ;)
Lemon pie, limoncello, lemon lush.... nommmmm
will be looking into them for using these lemons :) thanks for the suggestions , much love :)
I like all those lemon ideas, wheat beers and lemon is good... Shandy strong, and if feeling froggy mix with good ol Tennessee whiskey JD No.7
Lemon tarts or cookies would be good.. Hummus, fish n chip's with a healthy squeeze of lemon and a dill mayo dip..
I squeeze lemon on pound or shortcake..
Lemon ginger candied...
OK lunch time for me... Stay freshed up
