Don't know what a gabion is? Watch our 2 min vid to find out what to do with all your rocks!!
Have you ever seen those metal cages with rocks filling them? They're basically organized rock formations held up by metal! One thing is for certain, we have a ton of rocks in the Ozarks! Whether you have a lot of rocks or have always been interested in how to build a gabion and not sure where to start, watch our video! At least watch it for the humor as we went silly on this one ;)
They're everywhere in the country and act as fenceposts, retaining walls, check dams, thermal heat sinks, you name it. We use them on the homestead for archways and creating divisions between landscaping and parking areas. Really the sky is the limit!
We made this fun video this morning detailing our process of making a cylindrical gabion. Hope you like it!
First song is Silhouette by Beats Antique.
Second song is Waves by Ayla Nereo.

Cool use of rocks! I build inuksuks for my garden. Rocks have lots of uses. You are only limited by your imagination.
i'm not familiar with inuksuks .. i'll have to look that one up.. and yes, imagination's the limit! = limitless :D
It almost makes me wish I had rocks in my area :D

Really cool thing - a fence without cement, nails and excavation! The second time I watched it together with my husband:-)

Lol your guys enthusiasm always gives me the smiles. We have endless rocks on the mountain and methinks I'll be giving this a try in regards to fence posts. Gotta keep them goats out of the garden!! Thanks for sharing ^_^

That's awesome! I LOVE rocks! And I wish we had rocks on our property. I used to do a lot with rocks on our old farm. Sadly, we need to haul them in from outside sources here. And you are right, they will call to you if you listen :)
glad to meet another steemian who knows ;) <3
