Of all the self-care practices, by far the most important one is to have rest. Rest is of the utmost importance to the human body - our bodies were designed with rest in mind. No one is able to go non-stop day in and day out without reaping the consequences of such a lifestyle. And now that we are on a homestead, we recognize the importance of resting even more than we did in the city because we are working so much harder (physically) than we ever did in the city. For us, no work is done 1 day in 7, and it has made all the difference.
