New meat birds have arrived on the homestead, I see lots of Chicken dinners in the near future

We have just received our order for 50 Cornish Cross chickens. This breed of chicken is breed to be a fast growing large bodied bird ideal for meat production. They grow extreamly fast from hatching to harvest in about 8 weeks time producing a 4-5lb dressed chicken.

We typically raise 50 in the spring and another 25-50 in the fall and generally give away 20 or so to our helpers on harvest day!

We also have a farm Cat that decided to go Broody
