DEAR STEEMIANS....!!!
FOR FRIENDS OF STEEMIANS EVERYTHING I WOULD SHARE HOW TO STEP HOW TO PLANT THE CORN TRUE TREE.
How to grow corn is not too difficult. It can even say younger than planting chili, tomato, or other cultivated plants. Because planting corn is not intricate, there is no need for a limb or mulch to prevent evaporation. Corn is a very important source of food. In some countries, corn is a source of carbohydrates replacing rice and wheat. Therefore, this plant is feasible to be cultivated as a horticultural crop that has a high economic value.
To be able to cultivate corn crops well, you can follow the guidelines how to plant the following corn. Here are the steps to how to grow corn.
>How to grow corn
Steps in how to grow corn, as well as planting other crops, have 3 stages, namely soil tillage, planting stage, maintenance and fertilization phase, and harvest stage. For more details on how to cultivate maize please refer to the steps to plant the following corn:
1. Stage of soil processing
Land to be planted in the maize washed away from the weeds before in the flea. Grounding can be done by hoeing or using a plow machine. If using a hoe, hoe as deep as 15-20 cm then flatten again. Check the soil pH, if less than 5, it is necessary to give calcification with a dose of 300kg / ha. Add also basic fertilizer in the form of manure with dose 2 ton / ha, SP36 150 kg and KCL 75 kg. To prevent wilt disease, add Natural GLIO along with sowing of manure.
2. Planting Stage
Corn planting usually starts in the rainy season. So no need to do watering. To get a good harvest, then it should be used a good corn seed as well. Whether it is regular corn seeds, hybrid corn or sweet corn, everything should be of good quality. The corn seed needed for planting with spacing 25 x 75 cm is about 20-30 kg / ha. The spacing of maize usually depends on the cropping pattern. For maize that harvest time more than 100 days usually planted 2 stems / hole with spacing is usually 40 x 100 cm. While the harvest period of 80-100 days, usually planted 1 stem / hole with a spacing of 25 x 75 cm.
How to plant corn kernels is in single with a depth of 3-5 cm. Fill 1 seed per hole then close again. To keep the soil moisture for quick seed germinating, do watering. Unless there is rain and the soil is moist, then watering is not in need.
3. Maintenance Stage
The maintenance phase includes weeding, thinning and embroidery as well as watering or irrigation
- Penyi is usually done every 2 weeks so that weeds do not grow and the soil nutrients are not divided for other plants.
- Pembumbunan done to strengthen the position of the stems so that the plant does not easily fall and the roots are completely covered in the soil. Pembumbunan can be done many times as needed. How to split very easily, namely the roots of the plant in the soil with the ground from the right and left of the row of plants using a hoe. The embankment will produce an elongated bundle and drainage channels between rows of corn crops
- Thinning is done to sort the corn crops that grow not good by cutting or pulling it. Then the empty plant hole in the sulami with new corn seeds. Thinning and stitching is usually done 1 week after the planting period, when the seeds of corn have grown.
- Subsequent fertilization is usually done when the plants are 18 and 35 days old. The fertilizer used is urea 300 kg / ha with 1/2 part dossier at 18 and 35 days old.
- Control of pests and diseases can be done by spraying and destruction of infected plants. It all depends on the type of pests and diseases that attack.
4. Harvesting stage
Corn harvest is usually done when the plants reach the age of 85-95 days or depending on the needs such as for vegetables (baby corn / janten) to boil / burn or to take the seeds. How to harvest is to turn the corn cob to separate the fruit from the stalk jangung.
As a semi-versatile plant, corn stalks after harvesting can be used as firewood or animal feed. While corn klobot can be used as tobacco papyrus or dodol wrap.
