Jakarta - Marc Marquez has been long enough not to champion and climbed the podium in MotoGP France. Can Marquez end his podium fast at Le Mans?
MotoGP race will continue to Le Mans on Sunday (20/05/2018). This circuit is known to be less friendly for Marquez and Honda.
Marquez was a one-time champion at Le Mans. It happens in 2014, one year after finishing third on its debut in premier class.
Afterwards, Marquez never climbed the podium again in MotoGP France. After finishing fourth in 2015, the Spaniard crashed in the last two seasons.
Marquez is now headed to MotoGP France in good momentum. Two consecutive wins in the last two races led him to lead the standings with 12 points from second-placed Johann Zarco.
Looking at the French MotoGP race at Le Mans this weekend, Marquez is determined to maintain momentum. However, given the results in recent seasons, Marquez is aware of himself and Honda has to work hard.
"Le Mans is a track where we have to work hard and do our best to maintain a good momentum," said Marquez as reported by Crash.
"In the past, we could have won or podiumed there on several occasions, other times we had difficulty getting the pace, but as I always say, every season is different."
"Of course there will be question marks about weather, tires, and settings, but our mentality and approach will always be the same: positive."
"This year we've been at a good level on the way to France, so we'll see how it will be the weekend, we'll try to start well from Friday and then fight for the podium on Sunday," he said.
