This is the main hall of the Ten Thousand Buddhas. Originally it was ten thousand pictures of different Buddhas but currently it has gone up to thirteen thousand!
Located on the opposite side of the Hall of Ten Thousand Buddhas stands this beautiful pagoda. We were unable to to access it and walk the stairs to the top as it was closed off.
Located in the Sha Tin area of Hong Kong is a mild hike of a mountain where Ten Thousand Buddha Monastery is located. All throughout the mountain are statues of different characters, each with a different pose. Some with animals and others with objects of varying types. Each statue seems to have it's own personality which creates a story in it's own. Quite the sight to see and can erect some feels.
These statues are not made of gold or anything. What it is made of I do not know exactly but the mountain is darted with statues like these all over.
You'll see them everywhere as you hike up the mountain.
3 Buddha statues surrounds by female statues. If you know the story behind this, please share for I do not know.
Literally.....everywhere. Even among the greenery.
The mountain is lush with greenery and beautiful sights overlooking parts of the Sha Tin area. It attracts many tourists and locals alike with it's culture, history and all around vibes.
As with most Buddhist tradition, you can burn incense and pay your respects.
That wraps it up for this post and I do hope you've enjoyed it. If you're interested in more on life in the East, please follow our YouTube page as we are now living in Hong Kong and want to share it's wonders with the world.

Great travelogue thank you. I enjoyed the photos as I always wanted to visit Hong Kong but only got as near as Singapore and Thailand (equally beautiful and interesting) and they have a lot of temples too. I'd like to visit China as it's so fascinating but would eschew the Great wall for more countryside. Thank you for this post, really interesting.
Thanks you for the reply. I'd highly recommend checking out Hong Kong. I've lived in Jinan, China for almost 2 years and have been to other cities in China but I love Hong Kong so much more. All in all they are both great places to travel to!
