What is Hook 'Em Up?
Our @BuddyUP community is growing and so is the quality content inside the POST POOL channels. Often, that content can be easily missed in the vast ocean of Steemit.
It’s our mission at BuddyUP to grow together, support each other and highlight the fantastic content that is created by our members. As part of that mission, we showcase talented content creators within the BuddyUP community, who also display a positive attitude and a community mindset, through our weekly curation post, Hook ‘Em Up!
THIS WEEK’S CATCH
@Apsu
Our favourite loaf of bread, bun or just bread will do? @Apsu has been on steem close to 2 years, and still shares meaningful content and honest engagement. We are proud to have him also be a part of our @BuddyUp community.
In one of the most polite and friendly rants he shares his thoughts on the activity level of Steem.
This is actually what I'm happy about. I see still a lot of people posting well thought, good, meaningful posts even though the Steem price is down.
Sharing his appreciation for those who still post meaningful content, with a call for recommendations on artists or creatives, to follow and post to show some love.
Huge amounts of SP are under bots and fewer people are reading articles and interacting.
The above statement alone is why @Apsu is thanking the community for still posting and engaging on the blockchain; which they see as their creative corner to escape from the world and will hopefully help people to see that all hope is not lost and we should all keep on creating.
Be sure to read their rant and give them a follow for some great photography filled posts: Steem price is down, the feeds are empty.. or are they?
@EagleSpirit
We are happy to introduce one of our new members @eaglespirit who, a couple of months ago, started her #FreedomFriday Initiative. Her idea is to allow people to be who they are without fear of judgment and start a discussion of different topics based around freedom and what it means to the writer.
In @eaglespirit's latest post she explores the topic of Freedom Of Religion but begins with a little rant about the censorship taking place and explains how important it is to have the freedom to express yourself.
Whether I agree with anyone's choice of expression, I do not feel we need to be silenced. Actually, I'm quite fed up with staying silent and being a slave to a system that only looks out for the very few.
When I was a child I grew up in a very strict religious household, my great-grandparents were the conservative Catholic type, and they went to church three times a week
Being raised in a religious household, @eaglespirit was taught to go to church often and pray throughout the day and night which led her to a lot of contemplating at a young age. Always encouraged to stay with the religion she was raised with, she decided to blaze her own path, use her right to Freedom of Religion and search to find what she believes in.
Take a look at @eaglespirit's Freedom Friday Initiative say hello and if you write a post make sure to use the #FreedomFriday tag.
@MaverickInvictus
A welcome member in many communities on Steem, most people know @Maverickinvictus. He is one of the most supportive and dedicated community members you will ever meet. Lately he has been having a very difficult time and shares this with us in his post: The Games I play. From all who know him, we wish him the best as he goes through this period.
Apart from playing more games, @Maverickinvictus is a great writer, extending his passion for writing to all things Steem, you can be sure that his post Writing Habits and Consistency is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to his engagement and activity level on our beloved platform.
Having joined the Finish The Story Contest, by @f3nix, he lends his talent to continue on from what @f3nix has written. The story starts with the scene set of someone any passerby would identify as a homeless person. This ragged person is not asking for your change or concerned with passersby, he is merely chanting and focused on an empty space in front of him.
@Maverickinvictus does a great job of continuing this already exceptional writing with writing that matches; a story that adds depth and leaves you questioning. The philosophical depth of his continuation and closing remarks makes this a must read.
Be sure to visit his post: Finish The Story Contest - WEEK #27 | The Word.

We are glad you joined @BuddyUp and sticking around, could not leave you out of the feature either here is hoping that #freedomfriday gets some love and with you, in the group I have discovered new content that I might have never really read. Kinda like being a little mouse, I wonder what animal I will see myself in next 😜
@penderis you are too funny and BuddyUP is great! I'm enjoying the people and soon will be visiting posts. I make my rounds. :)
You do Not look like a Mouse! LOL
Thanks for mentioning my contest and ongoing fiction (mad) lab! @maverickinvictus is a selfless steemian and a pillar of our @bananafish community.. go Mave, well deserved!
I noticed that it originated from @bananafish but was uncertain whether to mention it since he mentions you mostly. If you wish we can add that with a little rewording. Yes I was fortunate enough to find @maverickinvctus early in my time on steem and that helped show how a person ought to be instead of what is seemingly the norm on this platform.
Amen. Humanity and empathy, notwithstanding the appearances, are a rare good even here.
No it's ok as it is, the @bananafish is my way to share the initiative of the contest rather than creating another "monarchy" but I'm still the wizard of Oz behind haha.. 😉
