Apple's - iPhone crack screen repair machine, to third-party Repair Center

Repair is also a business.

According to Reuters, Apple announced that by the end of 2017 it would announce to set up a cracked iPhone repair dedicated machine "Horizon Machine" at about 400 Apple Certified Repair Centers in 25 countries worldwide.

This machine was limited to about 500 directly managed stores and repair centers for mailing, but it seems that pilot tests are being conducted at several third party repair centers from about a year ago. In the coming months, they will offer to 4,000 of the 4,800 Apple Certified Service Providers, which is about 4%. By the end of the year, it is planned to spread to 400 sites as a goal.

As a background to the introduction of machines, repair itself has become part of the business efficiency improvement and improvement of repair precision. And there are various factors such as complication of iPhone structure and advanced security by TouchID. According to Analysts' analysis, Reuters estimates that Apple's repair business will consolidate all the products, ranging from 1 billion to 2 billion dollars per year. If that goes well to an unknown unauthorized dealer, you also want to improve the efficiency of repair at your company or an authorized service provider.

I mean, I can not hide the surprise in the existence of such a machine!

Clearly, at backyards and repair centers, skilled Apple masters say " Hmm, this was fully destroyed ", they just disassemble the iPhone and assemble the parts...

Well, screen crack repair is not fully automated repair, it seems necessary for hands of people, so it seems necessary to have skills though. However, it can be expected that repair efficiency and accuracy will be improved by introducing machines. If this machine spreads to many service providers, it may be that repair of screen cracks will be completed quickly.

Well, I have not decided to break it though.

Does this machine actually replace the screen? Some of the other articles make it sound like it just calibrates the touch ID.
