It was a rainy morning. The type of morning that makes you want to burrow into your bed and stay there indefinitely. The type that makes you curse the fact that you have a job, no matter how much you earn from it.
And Curse was exactly what Amy did when her pager went off besides her. She growled out a string of colourful expletives as she reached for the pager. 911! An emergency!
Having no other choice, she jumped out of her bed and into a pair of trousers lying carelessly on the ground. Deciding to leave on her pajama top, she picked up her car key and ran into the rain, forgetting to lock up.
Amy, a 28yr old beauty and one of three trauma surgery residents in a hospital in what would be called a third world country wasn't on call, but she didn't think twice about running to the ER at 4:30am, her fellow residents were the laziest people she knew and were not opposed to turning off their pagers even when on duty because they knew she would always come through when they didn't. she often wondered how they got into a very competitive residency program in a country where job opportunities were very scarce.
The ER was in chaos as Amy entered - as usual. 'Dont I just love this job!' Amy thought even as her body went into action when her brain was still in the process of waking. she hurried to the only ER nurse in sight.
'hi, I was paged 911'
'oh! Dr Akpabio.. I'm so sorry we had to page you, Dr Matthews wasn't answering his pager, I hope it wasn't too much trouble. Follow me please'
Nurse Jane was as nice as they come.
'why? it wasn't any trouble, I was only dreaming about the hottest sex of my.. Oh my God!!'
