We've got our first two semi-finalist
Portugal
Portugal have reached the semifinal after beating New Zealand 4-0. Having won the Euro2016, Portugal seems like a strong contender for this Confederations Cup. Also, keep in mind their star player, Cristiano Ronaldo, whose has been in a superbly form. After winning La Liga title and Champions League Title with Real Madrid, winning this ConfedCup would literally hand him the Ballon D'or, I'm sure he has that in mind.
Mexico
Mexico have showed that they have a strong side this year, and they want to demonstrate that they did not come from so many miles away for nothing. Even though they started losing, they were able to come back and ended up winning 2-1. They could easily be the surprise underdog in this tournament.
Possible opponents
Tomorrow we will know for sure who will be the other two semi-finalists. Most likely though, Portugal and Mexico will be joined by Chile and Germany. Mexican media outlets have said they would preffer to avoid Chile who beat them 7-1 in the last tournament they played together. Also, Chile has won the last two Copa America titles (both against Argentina) are trying to show that they are a Soccer world power. And Germany, last winners of the World Cup, need to reaffirm that next year they have the means needed to win another World Cup back to back, for that, they will need to show what they are made of in this tournament.
