The second picture of the pool makes it look more dynamic, maybe because it is on an unlevel plane and it gives it more dimension. I would think the second would be more expensive because of the cost to build the retaining wall that keep the tremendous force of all that water contained within the pool. If money is not the concern, I like the second picture (bottom picture) better.
