How do you know, that you know, that the mind knows, that it knows?
A tricky question has presented itself in front of a confused mind. A tongue-twister wannabe that would give us blocks, sometimes of knowledge and sometimes, just pure blocks. From here on I’d try to relay to you my own opinion and understanding about the question.
In everyday life, we discover something new, something worth knowing and something worth ignoring. Well, how do you know that you knew it? It’s simply because of your senses. With the help of our precious brain and those senses, we could safely deduce the cause and effects of certain things that we discover each and every day. Say for example, you’d be able to realize that ice feels cold, that your hair at some point was black, chocolates are sweet, differentiate noise from harmonious melody and that perspiration has the scent of success.
In relation to our senses, the mind knows that it knew it because of experience. Yes, we do not have those bars that indicate how much percentage have we already accumulated to grew stronger but yes, it’s all because of experience. From experience alone you’d know what to do next, and how to react on certain events or scenarios in life. When you fall from a mountain and miraculously lived, you’d be able to tell us a tale and say “it hurts because I felt it!”
How about the things that you haven’t experience you say? Well, the mind only assumes that it knew it but in reality it doesn’t, and that’s were faith barged in. With faith, we could say that sugar has a bitter taste because someone whom I trusted says so and I have faith in him.
Don’t be afraid to try new things because from experience and faith, we could definitely say “I knew it!”
