AWanderfulLife - Easy Upcycled Home Decor Project - Turning Trash Into Treasure

I love an opportunity to make something beautiful out of what would otherwise go in a landfill. This pretty little succulent trio fits almost any decor and is super easy to make with what you have lying around the house.

You Will Need

Succulents
Aluminum Cans with labels removed. I really like the look of different sizes and heights. For reference, the cans I used were a small tomato sauce, a soup can and a green bean can.
Twine or Hemp Cord
Potting Soil
Scissors
Hammer and Nail

Turn all three cans upside down and, using your hammer and nail, put three holes in the bottom of each can. Succulents need well drained soil to thrive.

Place the cans how you would like them arranged and, holding one end of the twine, wrap around the outside of the cans two times. Pull the end of the twine in between the cans and wrap around each can individually. Finally, go around the outside of the cans again, meeting the end you held in place and give it a tight double knot to secure it.

Fill each can about halfway with potting soil then gently place your succulent in each one, being careful not to damage the roots. Fill in around the edges with soil and give it a good watering. How easy is that??

Recycling is good but upcycling creates a new use for "trash" and removes the labor and energy involved in the whole recycle process.

Try it out and if you do, be sure to let me know and share in the comments your favorite way to upcycle! :) We can always use a little inspiration.
