Good day my name is Jaco Malan.
So I have started a company with 2 partners.
We specialise on detailing and restoring paint surfaces from vehicles, aircraft and industrial motor vehicles.
There after we use a nano ceramic coating that protects the surface and prevent dirt buildup.
The key to any coating or wax is to get the surface that will be coated as clean and and as smooth as possible.
Here is some steps to help you to get the best DIY detailing.
- Wash the surface with a good cleaner I prefer Permanon Hecta. Use a high pressure water cleaner to rinse the surface. Use a microfiber cloth to dry the surface as it takes some of the dust particles with it.
- A claybar treatment is a good idea to prep before polish.
Claybar is like prestick and remove fine dust in the paint surface by acting like a 4000 grid sand paper.
Ones claybar is done the paint will start to get a polished texture. - Polish is a big prosses, if done correctly the reward and satisfaction on how the surface is renewed will be worth the time.
A good 2 stage polish can remove most of the scratched and swirl marks.
First use a cutting compound polish I recommend Angel Wax . Use a wool polish pad and a rotary polisher.
Polish the surface in a left to right , up and down motion. Do not add to much pressure on to the polish machine. The wight of the machine and your hand will be enough. Whipe away the residue with a clean microfiber cloth use a different cloth for each stage.
