HOW TO CATCH AN ARMADILLO - IN CASE YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW

in #howto7 years ago

Disclaimer: I would not recommend catching armadillos.

With the random warmer days here and there that we are currently experiencing in the Ozarks right now, a lot of armadillos are making their way out of their burrows and searching for food. You may have noticed that I've recently shared a few photo posts featuring these peculiar animals.

In order to take those particular photos, I chose to capture the armadillos first. Though this makes the photos "staged," it does increase the quality of the photo. Today I saw another armadillo, so I had Monster Truck the Pepper keep an eye on it while I grabbed the GoPro. Here is my short video of how I capture armadillos.

INCREDIBLE HOW TO VIDEO

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Armadillos happen to be one of the creatures that can carry the disease leprosy. The purpose of the video shared above is NOT to teach YOU how to capture armadillos, since that could lead to you getting leprosy. While some may have their doubts, please rest assured that I am NOT trying to get YOU infected with leprosy.

The video above was simple to allow you to see how I capture armadillos, in case you were wondering. To learn more about armadillos and leprosy, click here.

As always, I'm @papa-pepper and here's the proof:

They look so afraid with something. @papa-pepper

Great lesson. Thanks

what animal is that ... ??

I never knew these guys carried leprosy. Guess I'll think twice before picking one up

That's right, everyone should think about that and know the risks involved.

wow.. you made it very easy papa..

I really enjoy watching those video.

Haaa, thats incredible. The fact that they can carry leprosy, has remove the guts from me in trying this. I havent seen an armadillo before.

Thanks for the package once again.

So informative.. Would i be able to use the same technique to other animals? thanks for sharing :)

I do. Most things I catch I just take off after and try to grab. If the creature is in water, just replace the running with swimming, and it should work out.

😆 I hope to see the action in person one day!

They are strangely cute 💓

That was quite a pursuit. I can never do that. Here in the Philippines, they are called Pangolin, and may be a little smaller. But, no. I still can't do that.

Nice catch... they are faster than they look!

My unique animal has never been tough.

What is the most dangerous animal you have ever captured?

@Mama-Pepper - And I was terrified.

Oh nice! Haha

They actually look pretty cute.

There are people that actually eat these Armadillos.

Armadillos happen to be one of the creatures that can carry the disease leprosy. -- this is a shocker... really? Why would they carry such disease? :(

Careful. You might get leprosy.

Oh man! You're right! I hadn't thought of that. I'll perhaps reconsider. Thanks!

Hahaha... Cutie! Cute! Cute!
Are they can bite finger @papa-pepper? Really, I swear I'm scared to touch it... Looks creepy small pig with strong shell at their back. I haven't seen like that in person. A tiny little thing same that animal like insect color purple, I played with and roll it like a ball using my finger... Hehehe... (^_^)

Wow. Its like you're just catching a big mouse 😊 we dont have armadillo in our country. Its my first time seeing people catching it.

That first photo is really great!

You're a freaking ninja. LoL

Just thought you might want to know.

Interesting, perhaps because they are not yellow?

Yes, they are very peculiar

Papa pepet has a great spirit that can motivate others..

Well done on the video and the catch - I promise not to try it at home !!!

Thanks for sharing. I see them occasionally on our homestead and out in the woods. I knew about the leprosy thing but, didn't think it was true... Thankfully, I only have watched them or chased them off and have not picked them up. Glad we erred on the side of caution! Great vid! God Bless!

Wow! That didnt look easy at all.

Not that I'd ever try to catch one...but I surely didn't know they carried leprosy!
