Good post! Did you know there is a simpler way to do this? Just login https://busy.org , it's another steem blockchain app, meaning that it sees everything you do on steemit as well. It so happens that Busy has a built in notifications feature that lets you know who commented, reblogged (that's how Busy calls resteem) and even who followed you! You can login Busy with your existing steemit key.
