This one definitely helps us in strategising our posts to make full use of the tags. I also realized those tags with so many posts are not feasible because how can you make yourself outstanding in a crowd of 10,000 people?
The most effective way is, like you said, go to 1-2 lower levels of popular tags and your posts will be more visible.
This is one of the reasons why I've never used #life. It's too saturated over there.
I wonder how you pulled the report, though.
Oh, I actually took the data from www.steemit.com/tags, and found the calculations from there.
The analogy I use in class is like swimming in a big but overcrowded pool, vs. a smaller pool with only a handful of people.
