Hello everyone! Welcome to Alodia's Crochet Photo Tutorial. Do you all feel the heat of the summer??? Remain fashionable this summer, ignore the heat! We all love beach right? But when we goes to beach ofcourse we should prepare our outfit of the day! And that is what I am going to show you today! How to make this summer bikini tops :)
Easy and very simple, you will definitely love this! Try to be unique this summer!
This is the "summer bikini top", that I had made last week ;) I used a hand dye cotton yarn, I bought it from my "kumareng Neriza". Isn't it so lovely?
This bikini top will fit for small and medium sizes. But you can adjust the size of these top, by doing an additional rows for each of the bikini tops so it will fit for the girls with the bigger and blessed cup sized hehehe!
I personally love the color combinations of this hand dye cotton yarn and at first I cannot imagine what would be the result, but as you can see the colors and how it forms on the bikini top is so perfect ;) Kumareng Neriza is very creative in terms of combining colors, but sad to say she cannot make it again because she forgot to wrote the formula of making this combination.
And because I am proud with this bikini top I would like to share to all of you the pattern :)
Follow the step by step instructions for you to make your own bikini tops. You can used any type of yarn you would like too ;)
The materials that I used are:
Cotton hand dye
3.00 crochet hook
Tapestry needle and ofcourse scissors
Row 1: chain 15, then double crochet in the third chain from the hook ;)
Row 2: double crochet in the next 11 stitches,
then double crochet 2 times - chain 1 - double crochet 2 times in the next stitch
then again double crochet in the next 12 stitches
Row 3-8: chain 1, turn, double crochet in the next stitches until you reach the chain 1 space made in the middle of the previous round we made
Then in the chain 1 space you need to make "double crochet 2 times- chain 1- double crochet 2 times"
then after that, double crochet on each of the stitches
Repeat this round for about 6 rows or if you have a bigger cup just add an additional rows to reach your cup size.
Also follow the step by step photo instruction for you to know how I made it.
If you are already finished with your 2 cups of the bikini, cut the yarn and the next thing to do is to connect the bikini cups.
Row 1: chain 25, then connect the last chain you made on the side of the bikini cup, then make single crochet 2 times on each of the stitches of the bikini cups until you reach the other end side of the first bikini cup, and then chain 2 first before you connect it again on the 2nd bikini cup, and again repeat, single crochet 2 times on each of the stitches until end and lastly chain 27. (This is a continuous round so don't ever cut the yarn if not told to do so)
Row 2-4: chain 1, then turn, in each of the chains made on the previous round make double crochet until reach the end.
Row 5: chain 2, then
*****skip 2 stitches, double crochet 6 times on the next stitch
skip 2 stitches, single crochet on the next stitch.*****
Repeat this round, all the way, also on the upper part of the bikini top do this instruction, as you can see on the photo ;)
If you already make it, you can now cut off your yarn and weave ends.
The next thing is to make the strings :)
You can check this link on how I attach the string on our bikini tops :)

I would also like to introduce the yarn that I had used :) This is the hand dyed cotton yarn ;) Variety of colors :) I remember someone asked me if how many thread I used but it is actually only 1 ;) Hehe! And I am very happy with the result ;)
