RE: SHITPOST YOUR WAY TO SUCCESS 🥇NEW Steemit-Exclusive Series • Lesson No. 1 • Letting go of quality for profit

in #humor7 years ago (edited)

Suddenly? You mean the founders here putting in their initial money to profit from it was a bad thing? What do you think would have happened to Steemit if no initial investment was done? What would happen now if you took the incentive away for those people to keep their money where it is?

I used to have peer to peer lending accounts. I was making close to 16% from them in the beginning, but over the years people kept defaulting on their debts more and more. It was down to 6% on one account and 8% on another. Me loaning that money makes me evil though I suppose? It's not fair after all, right?

When I realized I could make a much higher return here on steemit, I started to transfer that extra peer to peer lending hedge to steemit instead. As you can see from my account too, I have not suddenly accumulated anything here. Instead it has slowly been built up over time. In the past I made a very large amount from authoring posts too.

Wait, what? Did I just write that I made a lot from authoring posts?! How... no... that can't be possible. All those evil rich people are exploiting the system here, and there's no possible way I made money from adding content! That's impossible!!!

What do you think Steemit is? I'll tell you... It is a way for people with extra money to voluntarily support their friends via charity. I've seen people on here post single bible verse posts and get 20+ reward for it. Their friends with lots of SP are voluntarily supporting them regardless of the value of their content.

That's the beauty of Steemit too. I can support any damned thing I want with my SP. If I want to support shit posters who add zero value at all to others, I'm free to do it. The SP in my account is there because of me and my efforts. It is my property. I'll spend it or give it away as I wish.

Let's get back to how I made money though regardless of the current system. I did it by having valuable content people with SP in their accounts wanted. They supported my posts over others based on their personal choices. It's the same way I support people seeking to further individual liberty and not people trying to harm it.

The main problem I see on here is that everyone thinks they should be able to take the property of others. If you want to benefit from having SP, put in your own money or post quality and valued content (value according to others, not you). It really is that simple.

Edit: The bottom line is that most people on here do not have quality content that is also of value to others. Those people who do find it valuable need to have SP in their accounts too, or you can get tons of followers with a few pennies from each to do the same. There are ways to make this site work, but it involves lots of effort and expertise or knowledge in an area others find valuable.

Sort:

The real problem is many here believe that bid bots are the world's worst enemy and anyone using them (investing in themselves...wtf??) is the anti-Steemit..LOL How ironic is that?

Think about it: others who have bought their power, looking down on people for purchasing their power. Sounds like it has nothing to do with voluntary action, but rather control over the system. It's a battle for control. It shouldn't be but it is.

People here are not all the same and there are some really selfless humans on Steemit. Not everyone here is on the same 'wavelength' but for the most part I think we all want to see this platform survive in some capacity. However, if you are a newcomer to the platform and are looking to 'invest' - just be aware that there are assholes who bought STEEM at .10¢ and they "voluntarily" flag the living shit out of posts that use bots made by the people they dislike. Who has the right to divest another from this platform?

I have no issue with people using their town money to support themselves. The funniest bit to me is:
Those who complain about bid bots want the same exact thing people are paying for - for free!!!! 😆😆😆😆😆 that's hilarious to me.

So, some will downvote my post, some with refuse to vote on the post that I invested in (just because...ya know...sense n stuff) AND at the end of the day they want the same thing I do except they feel entitled to it for nothing (sorry...quality...lol). Oh, the irony, it hurts muh face.

Yeah, I don't use them, but I invest in them. People probably hate me for it too. Would they rather I not put my money into Steemit and not buy SP to loan out to services like Smartsteem? Perhaps. If all the investment money was taken out from this place though, what would be left? They just don't get it.

One very common issue I see is that many are unaware Steem is naturally inflationary and resets value in a way - every 3 years. At least this is how it was designed to be. SBD was intended to be pegged at $1 USD, however, that obviously changed (hitting $18 early this year already). This had unintended consequences as a result.

Result: SBD has also inflated. It was initially put there to be exchanged for STEEM or STEEM POWER. Because its value increased exponentially, people began to support higher than intended prices - this caused more SBD to not be converted (via the internal market) and in turn inflated the supply of SBD. Basically, since you invited me to Steemit, SBD supply has risen to twice the amount that it was when I came here /~325 days ago.

As supply/demand is present in every fair market, this is no different than any other investment - ROI means something. Whether you invest time or money or both - that's an investment. We can't complain about one action having a different outcome (ROI) than another. It's natural that we have those making lesser return angry with those making higher returns. The issue is not with Steemit, the issue is expectation. The logic that 'he or she got rich and I will too' is fallacy. Some are willing and able to do far more than others and they will ultimately end up with more "pie" because inaction does not ever equate to progress.

We can only blame technology for so much until we have to assess our own actions.

A smart phone is dumb in the hands of an idiot. 😂

@grow-pro I sent you message on Discord.

@finnian I really don't want go in debate about this. Just gonna say this...Be honest, can you become whale just by blogging? No, you can't. If you can, show me one whale who become it just by blogging.

It's not how good author you might be, it's about how much money you have in your pocket. It's about getting lucky so maybe your posts get noticed by rich non-blogger. Bla bla bla I don't really want to get into it because I feel much dishonesty in this all situations. (Not from you, in general)

One more things, this concept of whales finding good content is very funny. If they want to see quality content, why they don't produce it at all? Most of them don't blog at all.

Can you become a whale just by blogging? No, I doubt it. That wasn't something designed into Steemit either. No one created this place to create whales from authoring posts. Can you make a lot of money from posting quality and valuable content? Yes, absolutely.
