I was looking at my upvotes the other day and although I'm not curating much money, I'm getting 35, 68, a lot of upvotes. Those are a lot of people showing up to view/read my content, who enjoy and appreciate my content. So, it made $0.10. I still had over 50 people reading it and liking it. That counts for something to me. It has a different kind of value.
I've only been doin this a few days and people that do the upvote for upvote get idnored. Searching for upvotes just like Facebook and all the people searching for compliments (likes). That's a big reason why I dumped Facebook years ago and the censorship crap of course.

Maybe Steem should look at making it so that we don't know who Whales are in order that things like this don't happen. Really. Why do we need to know who has more upvote power and who has less? We should just concern ourselves with putting decent content out and the audience will take it from there.

Your first point I definitely have to agree with. Sadly people would treat each other better if some people could possibly benefit them I think... I think people would be a lot more wary and conscious of how they act if anyone could possibly be a while.

I think that the possible downside of hiding whale's levels is that people may possibly just begin to beg even more in the hopes that people are whales... But you know what? This would make a great experiment! Hide levels for a month and see what happens!
