Hurricane Irma destroys the island of billionaire Richard Branson

in #huricane7 years ago (edited)

Billionaire Richard Branson published a series of photographs showing the devastation of his Caribbean island by Hurricane Irma.
A series of Branson tweets over the weekend showed massive damage to Necker Island and the rest of the surrounding British Virgin Islands as a result of Irma, one of the most powerful Atlantic hurricanes ever.
The high winds shook the roofs of houses, trees and palm trees on Necker Island. The pictures showed furniture and house debris in the streets. Branson said his luxury resort was badly damaged.
In Jorda, near Necker, the effects of the destruction were more obvious. Branson noted that the island's resorts had been badly damaged, boats in the port had piled up in a match, and water had thrown huge cargo ships ashore.
