FRICKING HURRICANE FATIGUE

in #hurricane7 years ago

Maria is now a category 5 and making landfall in Peurto Rico and coming to US east coast. Hurricane after hurricane. It has been 2 weeks plus of anxiety and tension and new plans everyday.
I am so tired of this. Sleeplessness, headache and pure fatigue.
How is everyone else doing?

Got to stay put and be ready to put shutters again.
Not fun at all but it is nature at its best.

Weather, whether to complain or not. Too much rain, not enough rain. Too much heat too much cold. Too much wind, no wind. Weak solar cycle, strong solar cycle. Weak hurricane season, strong Hurricane season. Too much polar Ice melting, not enough Polar ice melting. Too many this too much that, Weather will be weather whether we want it to be or not. Buckle down the hatches, stock up on the fuel, food, and water. Or take a vacation, surf's up in Florida I heard. Be safe, be prepared.

I know what you mean. We got our power back on a few days ago after Irma and we have to keep a watch out for Maria now. Hopefully it will stay at sea!

I am complaining in VA, can't imagine how you guys in FLA are dealing with the aftermath. Good to know that you guys were okay

Yes, it has been an unusually active hurricane season. I ended up experiencing the first real hurricane I have ever been through here in Corpus Christi when Harvey hit just north of here in the Rockport/Port Aransas area. Fortunately we got through it without much damage, just a few shingles blown off the roof, although we did lose Internet service for almost a week. Other houses around us also lost their power for about a week, but our particular part of the grid managed to survive with only a few very brief power interruptions during the highest winds of the storm, so we did not have to worry about losing any food stored in the refrigerator or freezer.

Good to know that got lucky! Why no posts yet? Honestly you can simply put up your reply as your post.

Yes, I suppose I could make something like this into a post. I am still very new here, having just discovered this platform, so I am trying out the commenting system to see how it works. I have done blogging before (since 2007 at my site Karlonia.com, although I have not updated it for a while) and when I do my own post I would write much more content than in a comment reply, usually after researching topics, keywords, tweaking SEO parameters, etc. in an attempt to get more traffic and hopefully more revenue. But after Google's "Panda" and "Penguin" algorithm updates hit back in 2011-12 I lost much of my search engine rankings and traffic, driving me to seek out other revenue sources such as investing in bitcoin. After the value of bitcoin increased dramatically, so far giving me almost enough value in USD to live more independently and retire, I got interested in cryptocurrencies again and rediscovered the Bitcoin Talk forum, which eventually led me to this Steemit platform.

So yes, I'll be doing my own original posts before long; I just need to figure out which topics would work best and still need to read more about how this whole Steemit thing works.

Great . Just looked at your site. Very nice posts. You will likely do well here. I do it for fun only. I can manage my real job barely.
If you wish to make money on this platform, the most important thing is to buy Steem so you can steem power. Then each of your posts will generate great money. Good luck.
