Note To Follow Beggars : Hustle The Right Way

You may have heard of the expression, "go knock on a few doors" if you want something accomplished.

But knocking the wrong way can get you clobbered

Just like everybody on Steemit, i started with Zero Followers, and then nobody knew who I was , but i knew that I had to make ground, if I was to break even

So i started following people who I liked their blog post topics and Started commenting and engaging with them

I took time to study the psychology of Steemit and found out that "Follow for Follow" would not be of any value to me because they were thousands of bloggers on Steemit then and there was no way i could like and understand what they were blogging about

I knew that i had to hustle.

Hustling is putting every minute and all your effort into achieving the goal at hand, there was so much hustle in my early Steemit days, that i did not have time to "hang out" with people around me

Most of you ask of ways to increase followers and engagement. Short answer: Hustle. Long answer: Make sure that you are putting out quality content and also put your efforts in blog development

You need to knock on the right doors in the right way and understand what your end goal is, which is gaining attention

The number one Word that can make your Steemit blog is Attention, all my efforts daily on this platform is geared towards grabbing attention of people on this platform

There have been a huge increase in the number of Follower beggers in the past few days and that is very sad

What shall it profit you to have 500 followers and only 20 actually cares what you are posting about, and at the same time your home feed is populated with post you don't really understand

I want you to go into this week knowing that it is not the quantity of your followers that matter, what matters is they understanding and liking what you blog about

Fifty Word Story Contest

For Steemians with Rep 55 and below, i run a Fifty word story contest on @literature-trail for new Steemians

The contest have been running for 17 weeks now and it is a nice place to connect with new steemains and find people with similar interest

You are very right @ogochukwu the secret is going for ppl that have same value appreciation in the same topics or feilds. If you have 100000 and only 1 percent is engaging with you, its better you just had the 1% alone and forge ahead. One thing i have come to realise in steemit is that there must real content generation and there must be engagement too to balance the equation. Anything short of that is just like sitting on the fence. Thanks for the post.

Thank you for reading @dchino

And also for your insights.

Followed You.

That is in fact true. Unfortunately a lot of people do not understand that progress is gradual. You are right, having a few active followers is way better than having a ton of followers who do not even understand your niche. When you get followers from "all over" who do not even know what your blog is about, it becomes really easy for you as the blogger to get confused since you do not know what kind of content will get your followers reading your posts. And when this happens your followers start influencing your content and not the other way aroun

That is a true fact @yuyump

Thanks for reading and dropping your thoughts.

I agree, it’s just better to follow what you are interested in or want to learn more about then trying to gain followers out of it. I first started follow for follow just to build up a base. It’s kind of like driving by a restaurant or garage sale. If you see no one there do you even stop? Naturally, you wonder what everyone else knows about that place that no one is going. Is the food bad, are they trying to sell bad or over priced items?

After I started to gain a some followers I even started to remove some of my early follow for follow because they just spammed my feed all day 20 times day or more. While I can’t recommend follow for follow long term unless you like your feed being like front page of Steemit. It’s just one of many tactics that is easy to deploy to get started. But after that start its best to stop doing it, and finding better networking opportunities to grow.

Hello @enjar

I agree with occasionally reviewing your followings.

But i do this to people who i follow that no longer post interesting content.

When i started building my blog I did not indulge in follow for follow, my blog growth was slow at first but It was worth it.
