Hydra was an aquatic mollusc of Greek mythology in the form of a serpent with several heads and poisonous breath, daughter of Typhon and the Echidna. It had the virtue of regenerating two heads for each one that was amputated. It was located on the lake of Lerna in the Gulf of Argolid. It was said that she was the sister of Leó de Nemea and that for that reason she was looking for revenge for the death of her at the hands of Heracles (Hercules). Heracles finished with her in the second of his twelve works.
