Hyperloop One Meets First Full-Scale Test

The transport system devised by Elon Musk has served as inspiration for several companies that have long been working on a real implementation, and Hyperloop One is achieving important successes in that way.

A year ago this company started its development in the Nevada desert, and its managers just announced that they have completed the first full-scale test, which although limited is a crucial step to continue on that good road.

At the moment, very controlled speeds

This first major test actually took place on 12 May and showed how vacuum conditions were achieved in that closed tube environment that need to be created for this new method of transport.

The system was actually tested with a small part of the capsule (pod) that was of real size -attach to the video, you see how that chassis "levita" - although that yes, the speed that was achieved in that test was limited , 112 km / h versus the 1,200 km / h that are supposed to be achieved when the system is running at full power in its final stage.

These tests were not designed to achieve these maximum speeds, but to make the capsule travel in the same conditions as the spacecraft traveling at 60 km in height, which causes the lack of air resistance to travel to Much higher speeds.

The next objective of this half-kilometer test stretch is to achieve higher speeds that should reach 400 km / h according to those responsible for these tests. Much remains to be done before Hyperloop One starts operating with passengers - one of the first routes is expected to connect Dubai with Abu Dhabi- but this is certainly a great milestone for a project that raises a (more) revolution in Traditional transport.
