I had a Zekely lined up last week but ended up too busy or tired to post it. Besides, the suspense makes for greater rewards! How much fun is it to peruse the pictures on your phone and remember fun moments and share them with a legion of Hive Bloggers from across the world? Enough for weekly excitement in the Zekely but this is another 2-week double shot.
In this edition, I am hard at work getting things in place with the hopes of having a fun & relaxing summer.
How it Began
It seems only about 13 days ago when walks in the park were soggy but not freezing. The trees were starting to bud with the return of the sun and surely we were headed for spring right? Read on to see how it unfolded.
Volunteering
I can't really call volunteering work though it is more that than relaxing. My work with our local Multicultural Association seems to be a popular subject on the Zekely and the work helping newcomers never ends. Whenever there is a global newsworthy event, it seems they are in action to help out. Syrian war, earthquake in Turkey, war in Ukraine Russian invasion, and now Sudanese civil violence. The needs pop up quicker than they go away and our group is getting some press over our help with people looking to flee the area and settle in Canada https://www.stratfordbeaconherald.com/news/local-news/stratford-area-multicultural-association-looks-to-help-sudanese-refugees The government plays nice and announces that our arms are open to welcome people who need refuge but leaves the actual work to organizations it doesn't fund. The work never ends but https://maph.ca is up for it.
Business
We at @town-crier / https://towncriermarketing.ca have been hard at work not only adding clients, and readying our office for grand opening, but also helping a partner out as well. Being a marketing company, it only makes sense that we partner with an event promotion and production company like https://tallmanpromo.ca Here, I am helping install custom window decals at a client on a nice spring day.
I even spent some time helping to make baseball jerseys for a few local kids teams. We will have some fantastic signs for our office and happily exchange branding material in exchange for our digital marketing and SEO prowess. In fact, I bet this post gets proliferated to dozens of front end websites with piles of content and thousands of active accounts all linking back to our websites!
A Hive blog is a silver bullet for search engine optimization and will become so much more for small business by the time we are done.
Walks
Ideally spending an hour a day with this little animal has predictably resulted in walking and dogs playing larger roles in this blog. I know there is such a thing as too many dog pics but walks along the trails make it more than worth sharing. This post should have been a #wednesdaywalk post except I was office ridden and the Snacky McStealerson was off at agility training.
On that same walk, here is the original tree a week later in blooming. Most leaves have popped in a week but they are a little scrawny in places. Warmer sky too.
The Garden
A month ago, the garden was still a winter wasteland and even the dog thought "piss on this!" So much work to procrastinate in order to clean up, prepare the soil and plant this year's family garden.
A long weekend of hard labour and we are pretty much set up. If you need more details or the steps I take to prepare for plenty of flowers, berries, veggies and herbs, you can check out my #gardenhive post here https://hive.blog/creativegarden/@zekepickleman/pickleman-family-garden-long-weekend-launch.
I even managed to install a new motion sensing LED light so that rabbits and intruders get a blast of white light if they go anywhere near my garden.
Photography
I was talking to our friend @tattoodjay about how blogging inspires a whole wave of aspiring photographers. I snapped this one of a common native flower in my less than spectacular perennial garden with an iPhone. The flower is fancy enough and resolution brings out the detail but the contrast and depth of field make it look like I put it through a filter. The technology in modern phones will create photographers out of anyone who is willing to learn. Fantastic!
Here is our tree yesterday after 2 weeks of warmer weather. I am working on taking pictures from the same place every day or 2 so that I can combine them into a 4-seasons animation.
What a difference a couple weeks make!
Speaking of Beer
Alright nobody mentioned beer but what kinda #beerologist would I be if I didn't enjoy and share a beer during all of this work? I definitely had some interesting brews these past couple weeks and love to share them weekly with the #beersaturday crew. If you enjoy reading about beers from across the globe, or even might like to become a professional beer blogger, check it out!
The sun has gone down on another Zekely as I leave you with a sherbet @daveks wannabe sunset shot. Probably another couple weeks of spring fun and then we are into camping, cruising and some bigger adventure.
Thanks for checking and putting in the spring work!

If this is what you like/love, then I think that you can share as many dog photos as you like. Everyone on the Hive blockchain has a personal blog, and everyone can share anything they like/love. As much as they like/love. Everything the author of the blog likes/loves is worth sharing. And seeing other people posting what they like/love is also makes your day better. Probably most people agree with this. For example I often watch YouTubers. It is good to see happy people, who enjoy life.
Have a nice day. All the best. Greetings and much love from Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain.
Canary Islands in Spain? So hello from paradise?
I bet I could be happy there for a long while.
Yes. I arrived on Tenerife on the afternoon of 2023.04.21. So a little bit more than one month ago. I live with a cave/tent living community in the rocky semi-desert between El Médano and San Isidro. At first I lived in the community cave. Currently I live in a tent. I very much like both. Probably I will stay on Tenerife for long term (for months, for years, for decades). We will see.
That's about the coolest goddamn thing have I heard all month!
How do you get internet?
I am using mobile internet. Both my Hungarian Vodafone SIM card, and my Spanish Digi SIM card too works properly. I activated my Digi SIM card two days ago (on 2023.05.25). Based on my initial experiences, the Digi have better coverage in this place than the Vodafone.
Well that is fantastic!
I could have swore I have followed you for a while or maybe delegated for #HPUD in the past? Definitely following now as that is a story I would love to hear as it unfolds.
I indeed participated in the #HPUD multiple times in the past. Probably I will participate in it again in the future too. Currently I am powering down (50% of my Hive Power) to have emergency/liquid funds, and funds to buy Hive Dollars (HBD) or anything else. I also relatively regularly blog about my life.
Yeah, I love the weekly Zekelys, but it's also fun to read a double Zekely, man. You've photographed the changing of the trees beautifully, it's summer here too.
Finally, thank you very much for your help as a company in Turkey and elsewhere, my friend. Not every company that can afford it does this, but you support us from there. You guys are great man!
Oh I wouldn't say that. More like I help with the coordination, promotion and fund raising for great men and women.
Zekely done, mate!
Here's another
!BEER
Just remembering the work that awaits at the gardens is... painful and invigorating. We shall see where we fail and where we prevail.
Cheers!
Ah failing is just longer term prevailing. A little hard work to help things grow and have fresh food available for the family is reward enough.
Cheers Mano!
You’ve had busy 2 weeks! !love seeing the tree changing week by week. Here also the weather improved greatly in the last week and we’re jumping from winter right into summer temps. Mad weather!
Enjoy your beer and I’ll check out the garden too 😁💙

Never a dull moment here in spring. The sprouts are small so the garden is more about the preparing and planting. The early perennial flowers make for nice spring blooms though.
Ahh, gardens can be exciting to watch at all stages 😍
Btw, your last month delegation for me as PUD winner is still active. I’m of course grateful, but wouldn’t want to take advantage of your kindness 🙈
!KING
Outstanding job King @zekepickleman, fantagira(2/4) is grateful for the care and attention you put into crafting this post. Your efforts are truly valued.
In fact @fantagira has given you 50.0 BUDS! You can find it in your hive-engine wallet! We hope you enjoy it a lot!
BTW! BUDS is the token of the hashkings ecosystem, you can use it to have discounts in all our games or stake it and earn rewards now!
look like you've great fun with bear, such cool 😎
Fun beers to drink while we have fun!
I was expecting to see a picture of Beer in your post and I saw it. Hahaha
Nice one!
Haha you know it. All of life’s adventures go better with !beer
All the people who are working on this platform have to make it compulsory to take pictures wherever they go because it's part of their job the way we see that you are also taking pictures of your friends. They are having so much fun together and the tree is looking so beautiful and also the drink looks so tasty.
Pictures are definitely the heart of a lifestyle blog. For people just starting, I say take lots of pics, post 3 and say something about each. Instant post and a good start to practicing your writing/blogging skills.
Yeah you are right
