I've always had a fear of cameras 📹... I don't know why, but I felt super uncomfortable when someone started filming me. However, I did/do love performing live, the feeling of being on stage made me feel so free. I could be there, do my thing and it was all over. Never really had what people call "stage fright". But when it came to filming and singing in a studio on the other hand... Well I always felt super insecure when that happened.
For some reason I've noticed that when I performed on stage back then, that no one really filmed me, but when someone else started singing, I could see so many people trying to document the moment. That was probably also why I started to dislike being filmed because, one... it could mean people just wanted to make fun of me and two I wasn't so good enough. All in all I made myself believe that I wasn't good enough.
When I met Brendan, all of those feelings started to fade and singing with him made me super excited, so much that I wanted to document it all. He knew that I was camera shy and I told him that I wanted to get over my fear, what more is there to do then try... right?
It was 2020 the time of the "TOTAL LOCKDOWN" in Suriname, we were staying together and slightly bored. That's when I had the idea to make YouTube covers. It would be a win for me, since I wanted to be more relaxed in front of the camera and we could show the world our talent.
Our first Youtube video was super cute, no fancy equipment, cool lighting or great audio whatsoever. I was super nervous, but having Brendan by my side helped a lot with my anxiety. And that's basically the start of Brendan And Grace (BAGUS)
#IamAlive and happy that I could overcome my fear with someone I could trust and that understands my issues, but the willingness to try is all that matters... I guess...😊
