Birdie mourns for the tree and empathises with the woodsman. She checks the tree to see if it can yet be saved, but the damage is too great. This enrages the woodsman further. She tries to console him and reason with him.

There is no reasoning with him or consoling him. His rage has taken over. While he is distracted I'll prepare my arrows. He is so large I think one arrow will just anger him.
