Yes you need to be wary, I am thinking that most may fail if they are based on Ethereum..... I believe EOS will do much better in supporting apps due to its potential speed of blocks, and being fully open source.

GOOD QUESTION. The speed of closing down the End Blocks # commands take many minutes, similar to bitcoin, which for bitcoin is OK (TEN MINUTES). For any platform that has to have huge scaleability, the promise of most ICO's - they will need hash Block clearances at the rate of - visa/access transactions.....Ehereum will need a very HARD FORK to accomplish this - see my post for more: https://steemit.com/steemit/@davemanchester/a-prediction
