Something tells me the crypto universe is evolving each time quicker and quicker.
Now it's time to see how it's affecting the ICOs (Initial Coin Offering). We were used to see regular ICOs with a given structure:
- Private pre-sale (optional): some ICOs use the biggest investors, friends and family to reach the first investment goals. In this phase normaly the minimum amount to invest is much higher (25 ETH, 50 ETH, 5 BTC,...)
- Whitelist (optional): in other ICOs we can find a delimited period of time where you should register yourself if you want to enter into the next phase. This phase is not mandatory, but each time is getting more frecuent to be part of the process.
- Public/crowd sale: after the private sale & whitelist were over, or as the first step if there was no previous phase, there was a limited period of time to buy tokens with a lower minimum limit (0.1 ETH, 1 ETH,...).
What it's changing?
Right now you can find the following patterns:
- Private pre-sale: due the higher prices of ETH and BTC sometimes the expected investment is already fulfilled in this phase, so there won't be public sale
- Whitelist: As the ICOs are getting more popular, and more people are entering into the crypto universe, sometimes they close the period of register, as the get thousands of people register during the first hours/days
- Public/crowd sale: Some ICOs reduce the chances to have public sales as the new regulations are getting harder to manage.
During the last days you can see ICOs as Nucleous (public sale cancelled because ETH price) following this patterns, but there are many others.
We'll have to adapt to the new circunstancies and keep learning about this amazing time we're living!!!
