RepuX Offers Opportunities to Developing Nations (new ICO)

in #ico7 years ago

Many business activities involve the utility of a resource which leads to a byproduct at the end of the process. This is particularly true for fuels. A new form of fuel, the fuel of the technological era, has a byproduct too, except this byproduct is still extremely useful, but only to a specific market.

This Fuel is Also the Byproduct

Data is the fuel driving artificial intelligence forward. With the rapid advances AI faces today, once the data sets utilized to fuel the advancement are done, the byproduct is still that data—just now it is outdated. Unlike fuels that power engines, data remains unchanged even after it has been used.

This should give way for a heavy secondary utility to data sets, but the reality is that much of the world’s data remains siloed. The primary reasoning for this is that most of the AI advancement is being driven by a few companies who are competing neck-to-neck. Their advancements are mostly evenly paced, except the intention of utility is differentiated. This leads little need for them to sell each other the data they have used.

Major companies intend to stay ahead of each other so they have little need to utilize outdated data and they are continuously paying to receive the most recent, up-to-date, and detailed data sets.

RepuX Paves a New Outlet for the Byproduct

Since data, despite being outdated to major corporations, still holds immense value, there are many others who’d be willing to have it. Major tech corporations who utilize data to drive their AI forward do not want to exert resources on finding a market for their used data as their completive edge demands exertion and focus of resources on innovation.

However, RepuX offers an outsourced means to bring value to that outdated data. Instead of corporations having to spend resources to find a value for the data they have siloed, RepuX has provided the solution: a decentralized marketplace for data.

With RepuX, major tech firms can gain a secondary value out of data they have used. After some delay, when the data they possess has little ability to create products that can compete with their complex, advanced developments, major corporations would be able to place outdated data on the secondary marketplace.

Who’d buy this outdated data?

RepuX: A Boon for Undeveloped Countries

AI development is largely cratered in a few developed nations that have the economies to support heavy research in technology. Much of the products developed through these have no market in developing nations.

This outdated data can be instrumental in advancing the quality of life in undeveloped nations as institutions there can buy cheap, outdated data to develop products that cannot compete with the advanced products being developed by major global tech firms, but can still ease the hardships in their societies.

Moreover, the corporations can easily limit sale of data that develops into (less advanced) consumer-side products even in a market where their products have no sales. The benefit of this is that they can provide data that can advance AI that benefits social infrastructure and societal safety. A large portion of AI involved in IoT revolves around advancing fire sensors, gas sensors, chemical sensors, and so on. These critical IoT devices depend on advancements in machine learning, a segment of AI, to improve their functionality to suppress potential disasters.

RepuX provides major firms a way to improve the safety standards across the globe while building a revenue channel from something that had previously been nothing more than a sunk cost. Given that corporations dedicate billions of dollars to corporate social responsibility motives, RepuX might also allow a way for them to pad those PR figures by adding the discrepancy of the sale price and purchase price of the used data as a charitable measure.

RepuX provides a way for leading firms to economically supply data, that they no longer need, to the world’s developing nations. This can enhance the infrastructural safety standards in those countries thereby benefitting both the wealthy corporations’ shareholders and those on the complete polar end of the wealth spectrum—RepuX offers some value to everyone.

Nice one bro, i like what you are doing?

Thank you, Rash! :)

Nice article! There are so many cryptocurrencies nowadays that are working with data, and that is really good!

Right now data is so centralized, mostly in the hands of a few big companies like Google and Facebook. Blockchain can change that, and help us, as users, take control of our data.

I'm definitely upvoting and following you!
@shredz7

You're absolutely right @shredz7
I've actually written a piece on the democratization of data; check it out :)

Aquí apoyándote amigo, Excelente Post claro como muchos debí traducir. jejeje

Thank you, Manuel!
