Countries with restrictions on cryptocurrency transactions

in #ico7 years ago

Worldcore, an international company that specializes in payment transactions and serves, has made a rating of 15 countries that have banned or limited operations with cryptocurrency.
The first four lines are occupied by countries in which the use of digital money is severely punished, up to imprisonment for several years:

  • Nepal;
  • Bolivia;
  • Bangladesh;
  • Algeria.

Next are the countries where there are national bans only on certain types of transactions. In some of them, only payment transactions are prohibited, in others, such as in China, the operation of exchanges and ICO is completely prohibited. Note that the Chinese blockchain projects, in every way try to circumvent the legislative obstacles.

The following are countries with restrictions on certain types of transactions:

  • China — purchase and sale of cryptocurrencies, ICO and their advertising is prohibited;
  • India — financial institutions cannot conduct operations with cryptocurrency;
  • Russia — considers cryptocurrency as a digital asset, but not a means of payment, the purchase and sale of digital money is possible to make only on the registered national platforms. On separate sites advertising the ICO.
  • Vietnam — from January 1 this year banned the issue and use of all digital currencies;
  • Indonesia — officials are considering regulatory documents that will impose a ban on the use of cryptocurrencies and the processing of cryptocurrency transactions;
  • Thailand — in February 2018, the Central Bank banned key operations with cryptocurrency: investing, trading, creating platforms, using credit and debit cards.
  • Kyrgyzstan — digital money is not a legal means of payment;
  • Ecuador;
  • Iceland — digital money fall under the General restrictive currency regulations.
  • Morocco;
  • Malaysia.

Most likely, in the future, the attitude to cryptocurrencies will be revised. The Joys blockchain platform allow to pay for goods and services with digital money even in countries where they are banned.
