There has been a lot of talks about the issues and privacy rights being violated by many companies by allowing others to access Personal data. There is no other way to put this but, there has been a current wave of panic and attacks on our data in particular and this is not be taken lightly and must be addressed at the earliest, lest it becomes an even bigger threat to the Internet than any other cyber-attack that we can imagine.
Lots of Personal Information and Credentials are being used to log-in and use the various services Internet offers, and many of them are stored digitally. This leads to the possibility of them being hacked or manipulated by unauthorized. Even so, this information is usually also available for the service provider, and even though they state it in their T&Cs that our data will not be given out, we have just have to trust that they keep their word. Only way we even find out that our data has been leaked is after it has happened and only when they victim company announces it publicly.
Many of the times this data can be put to good use by many companies for either developing much better and optimized and better services and products. They could also use our personal and usage data to personalize services that they offer and cater to much wider audience with different tastes using the previously available data.
There has been lot of reported and unreported attacks on really vital information such as Credit Card data, that are stolen by attackers and misused or sold on the Dark Web for the highest bidders. There seemed to be no other countermeasures for this rising problem until Blockchain and its simplicity and advantages were laid out to the general public.

They plan on storing our Personal and Usage data on the Blockchain. This lets the data be decentralized, making all the current top players, just the platforms that can access the data via the Blockchain. This will help in making the data decentralized and not lie in hands of a few players as mentioned above.
It will also drastically increase the security that it offers against attackers, allowing us the peace of mind to use and store various different platforms.
One major advantage that it offers over the current method is that, we usually agree the service providers to use, collect and analyze data for the optimizing and producing better services and products for free, with no tangible benefit for the users.
