How to play Mythereum.
#1
Under the "Do Battle" tab, you'll see a list of open games as well as a "New Game" button. Click "View to check out a particular game on the list and "Join to participate in that game. If you created a game and at least one other person has joined it, you can press "Start" to begin playing. Once your transaction confirms, the game will be locked so that no one else can join. However, anyone can still watch any game that other players are playing.
#2
Who ever created the new game automatically goes first. Order of play then follows the order of joining. Each player gets the same 3 random magicks at the beginning of the game, but the first player may not use those magicks to attack during their first turn. Each player will get 3 random magicks at the start of each of their turns.
#3
A leader card is randomly chosen for each player to start the game. The first player may attack another player with the attack points on their leader card but will not be able to ativate that cards's ability for that particular turn. This is because there is significant advantage to going first.
#4
During each turn, a player can either attack another player, set a new leader card and attack, or exchange cards. During your turn, the attack button will be situated under each of the other player's cards but not your own cards. This is so that you can specify which players leader card you want to attack. You may choose instead to exchange as many cards from your hand as you want. Once you've selected cards to exchange, they will be removed from the game and that number of cards will be dealt from your full deck. If one of your cards has been defeated, your hand will show one less card and you will only be able to exchange that number of cards.
#5
If a player chooses to attack another card and has the appropriate number of magicks, their attack will automatically be increased by the number indicated by the ability of their leader card. If they do not have the appropriate magicks, they may still attack with their leader card’s basic attack points.
#6
If a leader card is attacked and their shield is overwhelmed, that leader card is defeated. However, if the attacked player has the appropriate magicks to increase their leader card’s shield and fend off the attack, the ability points will be automatically added and their leader card may remain standing. Defending against an attack does not require a separate turn but happens automatically as a consequence of an attack. Whether the leader card is defeated or not, the player who attacked finishes their turn and play moves to the next player.
#7
When a leader card is defeated, a new leader card must be chosen. Scope out your opponents’ leader cards, abilities, and magicks when making your choice! Choosing a new leader card doesn't count as a turn, so you can attack your aggressor right back!
#8
Each player starts with 250 health points. An attack that overwhelms the shield of a leader card will reduce that player’s health points by the excess of the attack.
#9
The game ends when only one player has one or more cards left standing.
#10
Each player earns XP for actions taken throughout the game, such as starting the game (1XP), defeating a leader card (1XP), damaging a player’s health (XP equal to amount of health taken divided by 100), and winning the game (2XP). XP can be used to improve cards (5XP per damage or shield point).
Keep in mind that this is the alpha release of the battleground and there will be many iterations to come! Future releases will include web based battle where only the results are sent over the blockchain. This up coming feature will not only speed up battle time but it will make them alot cheaper as every move will no longer have to be sent over the blockchain.
From this example you can see that the Tiger has a base attack of 48 Damage points and has 27 Shield points for its defense.
Then at the bottom it shows the Tigers special ability that can be activated using the required type and amount of Magicks.
You get 3 magicks (random distribution of black/gray/white) at the beginning of each turn, if you don't have enough of each magicks to use the special ability then you just attack with the base attack number.
When you attack someone, it will automatically use the ability unless you don't have enough magick or it's not necessary to defeat the target card.
Similarly when you're attacked, if the incoming attack is going to overwhelm your base shield it'll try to use the ability if you have enough magicks, it's always base first, plus ability if needed and afforded.
This is where the value of a bigger deck will have its benifits as it will give you a higher chance of success in battle because you can exchange part or all of your hand for different ones from your deck.
You can only do it once per battle, but it's a big advantage if you have better cards in your deck but not in your hand.
With the added bonus of 2 extra cards when you buy a Genesis pack you dont want to miss out on this limited time offer.
Once the 1st, 5000 cards from the Genesis sale is over there will be no more Genesis serious cards ever produced again so they will be very rare indeed.
