Status RSK, the Telegram Chat bot cryptocurrency you can buy on floppy disks.

in #ico7 years ago (edited)

Status RSK is everything right in the crypto industry right now...

Its so good it should be on opera's favorite things.
Better than inventing sliced bread Macgyver baked himself.
The chicken and the egg.
Its Ansel Elgort high fiving Ryan Gosling and Tom Cruise at once.

https://statusrsk.com

Reason #1 Super Retro

  • They built their no frills website straight out of the Xerox Parc website from the 90s (those guys that brought us the mouse).
  • You can buy their crypto currency on floppy disks.

Reason #2 It's On Bitcoin Baby

  • They are bringing all the hottest smart contracts of the summer (Bancor, Status.im, Aragon) to Bitcoin.
  • First to use Rootstock (if you haven't heard about it rsk.co.

Reason #3: It's Got A Telegram Chat Bot

  • Send, manage, and run smart contracts right from inside your Telegram Chat (they have Slack, WeChat etc in the works).
  • You can mess around with it right now. Just type "@srskbot" and tap "start"
  • Bot can let you run any smart contract right from within their chat.

Reason #4: Exclusive So Exclusive

  • They put together a super list of 63,000 users based on their activity in crypto.
  • If you are on the list you get an invite code you can use, if not its out in the cold.
  • The list was gathered from everywhere, Slack, Github, Gitter, Disqus....if you were talking about crypto or working on it you got an invite.

Reason #5: It's not a mere token it's a an EMBLEM compatible with 5 BLOCKCHAINS

  • Every Status RSK Token represents a token on 5 other smart contract blockchains.
  • You can run one smart contract in Ethereum and then validate the contract in Counter Party.
  • There is a "do-over" contract on every chain so that if some catastrophe happens they can reissue everybody an insurance token (at least in the first 4 years).
  • Instead of just another token sale, they are bringing something entire new to the space called "Emblems". An Emblem is a group of tokens which they run on multiple block chains so they every 1 Emblem means you have a little something staked everywhere.

Reason #6: Giving us the straight honest truth...

  • They reveal some important tech woes about the latest https://status.im
  • Show some crazy conspiracy theory about Ethereum
  • Maybe the DAO was not what we thought it was....

So where do I buy some?

You can't yet unless you got an invite code. Just wanted to get you excited about it.

PS: Full disclosure I do own some SRSK.

Sort:

Got an invitation email today as well (mine is #30549 if you care to compare). Scam flags:

  • The site currently says that "32.29% tokens remaining", which more or less the same number as what one could see 11 days ago.
  • The srsk.co domain has an invalid certificate (not something you should spare upon when begging for a million dollars).
  • The chatbot seems to only implement the "start", "account" and "send" commands. Everything else is fake.
  • The block explorer is fake or broken:
    • Unable to browse blocks before 2079. Blockchain without a genesis block? No, thank you.
    • Give him any account address and it will tell you all the same stats about it.
  • No Github or any indication of actual development.
  • The @statusm user, who claims to be "a member of the team" is an account registered some days ago for the sole purpose of posting these two comments here.
  • In general, the attempt to "hide the team" (not even finding a single person willing to come out as a legitimate representative) aligns much better with the desire to get the money and run without leaving a trace than anything else - the excuses "we want to be exclusive" they post on the site look lame to me.

For the reference: the email I received came from Aiden Hamil ([email protected]), the srskteam.org domain was registered just a week ago and is bound to a generic mailboxhost.com email provider. Google does not know of any notable developers with this name.

Couple of points, writing as a member of the "Status RSK".

  1. Not sure what Michael Salabi is talking about a VIP email. We never used such wording NOR do we have anything to do with RSK beyond supporting their protocol. These are "SRSK" tokens not "SBTC" which is their item.

  2. Surprised by the number of "Scam" claims. Feel free to test the technology + MVP which is publicly available on Telegram right now (just search for "@srskbot". We are frankly a rare ICO that actually has a functional product.

  3. Any notes on the the team, this is why: https://www.statusrsk.org/the-team

By all means, if you have any concerns DO NOT SEND ANYTHING. The whole point of the private invitation is not to scam people (think that through, if we wanted to scam we should have targeted people who have no skill at all in crypto). Regardless, thank you for your feedback.

All searches lead me to this one post. Any evidence to show this is NOT a scam?

it seems like a scam, I got an email saying im a top participator in the expanse community. Did they generate a "code" for you too?

so how random are we being one of those 63,000? I got an email as well. we need 62,998+ more to confirm :(

Yes they generated a code for me. Even if they are legit, this is a bad way to get investors. I checked out their telegram bot, so there is something being developed, I just have no idea who is doing it, other than an address in Florida on the website. No transparency, no conversation other than these steemit posts. Don't understand how they expect people to trust this.

Lucky me, I got the invite. Reviewed the site, checked out the demo and sent them some ETH and didn't receive the tokens. Doesn't look good, but if you are going to go through all that trouble, why not just create a token and send it. They mentioned Sergio Lerner from RSK in the email. I sent him a note asking if he could vouch for these guys. No reply yet.

Typically, ICO tokens don't get sent until they are transferable. The site has a "check rsk balance" field and button. Did you try that? If you get a confirm from Sergio please let us know.

It's confirmed to be a scam last I saw:

Careful we all received those "VIP" #RSK invitations, don't fall for it #Crypto twitter.com/RSKsmart/statu…

Good points in this article. Nice to see I'm not the only one who thinks like this. Sell the coins that you know nothing about. Do proper research on any coin you buy. If the market falls at least you can hold your coins knowing they have a long term future. Besides coinmarketcap.com there is: https://www.coincheckup.com If you want to know more about the: team, product, communication transparency, advisors and investment statistics on every crypto then this is your go to platform.
