Benedict O’Leary
Former business development manager at Booking.com
Accommodation and travel advisor at WONO
Benedict has worked for more than 15 years in accommodation business and shares his expertise with WONO team. In his final article about blockchain revolution in the industry he explains, how the Corporate Travel Market is going to be disrupted.
At the present time Corporate travel is served by TMCs (Travel Management Companies) that rely on outdated technology. In conjunction with the loyalty program referred to above the WONO platform has real potential to disrupt the Corporate travel sector.
Many business travellers enter the ‘bleisure’ sphere - i.e. combine
OTAs are trying to muscle in on this market, as their information indicates that a large proportion of users do so to book business travel, but this is coming at an additional cost to hotels in terms of reduced rates.
WONO, with secured payment, trusted users, arbitrage and community rating of Vendors could provide some real transparency, and much-needed improvements in this sector. However, this is more of a long-term prognosis.
WONO, by offering a secure identification process for users can help facilitate this by offering a range of services on one platform. Travel agents that help frame itineraries will have to incorporate blockchain authentication and security procedures before travellers can use it regularly.
