Hey everyone, we all know times are hard and funds are scarce nowadays. I’m a student and I know how rough things can get in universities. So I want to share a few ways that my fellow students and I can make a little extra money.
1 BLOGGING
This is a really good way to make money as all you need is a phone or laptop, one of which every student has. All you have to do is share your ideas on sports, music, politics, etc and money comes your way. It might start out small but with time, everything grows.
2 ONLINE SURVEYS
This is one of the best, easiest and least known ways to make money as a student. Online surveys are questions asked online by companies for the improvement of a product or service. Basically they are asking for your opinion on services so as to be able to improve it. So all you have to do is answer a few questions a day and you get pad. The more surveys you answer the more money you make.
3 BAKING CONFECTIONERIES
This is another way to make dough… lol. Most students have a sweet tooth and this gives you an opportunity like no other. Baking is an easy skill to learn and with little capital and a little skill, you can start baking cakes and other confectioneries that your fellow students usually buy. With time and more skill, you can turn it into a massive business.
4 BECOME AN ACCOMMODATION AGENT
This is a good way to make money. Students can either live in the school hostels, off campus, or come from their family homes. So your focus should be majorly on the off-campites. You can be the one to search for accommodation for them, make all the arrangements and help them secure a roof over their heads. It can bring in massive income although certain times in the year will provide more yield than others. For example, the start of a new session will provide a larger number of clients because of the influx of new students while by the middle of the year, almost everyone would have settled down and barely anyone will be looking for accommodation.
5 START A MONTHLY YARD SALE
This is a personal idea of mine and I think it could generate a lot of funds if pulled off properly. Students constantly make purchases. People buy clothes, shoes, books, generators etc and somewhere else, someone else is trying to sell those same stuff. so the idea is to create a second-hand shopping platform. The sellers come with the things they want to sell and establish fair prices for them, then the buyers are invited and they can shop through the available goods and buy what they want at a cheap price. Then when all is sold, the brain of the operation gets his cut and everyone goes home richer and happier. The best sellers are fresh graduates who will want to make some quick cash before NYSC and the new students will be the best buyers. If it can be organized monthly then you are looking at about 10 grand a month.
6 TUTORING
This is a really common way of making money and is widely done in universities worldwide. In universities, we are told that the lecturers are not meant to teach everything and so sometimes this leaves holes in our knowledge and thus we need a tutor to patch it up. One knowledgeable in a course can organize classes and teach the students what they need to know to make those A’s… for a price of course
Wonderful ideas , and this are all not difficult jobs to engage in
yeah, that's the point, because money is hard to come by for students so it has to require almost zero capital and little effort beause school still comes first
