I'll be brief
So if you go to the movie section of my computer you will find a folder that I very much cherish. It is called the epic movies folder. The thing that's making me write is that I not only realise the number of movies in that folder but even more so the different genres these movies belong to. I have dubbed them great despite the fact that they are very different. It is because their greatness has absolutely nothing to do with what category they belong to but rather what level they have gained in their respective genres. Their difference has nothing to with how great they are.
I guess what I'm saying is when we say "great or epic" it does not translate to "same". It speaks to the best in all different walks of life. It is actually beautiful that great movies in my folder aren't all action or horror or romance or real life movies. It's spicy how the great people in the world you can think of aren't just scientists nor preachers nor business men nor Presidents or academicians. We have them from the sports men and women to Philanthropist. You can be great to. And if and when it feels like you can't beat the standards laid down in that one career or passion call or line, be innovative, rebel if you have to and do something new.
That is why we cannot pinpoint the greatest song or movie or person even. Yes. Because people have achieved a lot of things in so many fields that cannot be seen as anything less than great. Don't feel demoralized because others are making it in already established societal paths. In fact stick to that rare path you are on and do it best. If you climb to the top, you will be the first great person or great thing in that walk. Many people are trying to make themselves great when there is simply no way they are going to outdo predecessors who have set the bar high in that one particular field.
What I need you to do then is to try something new. Freaking turn the moon into a balloon. Something new: A place where you will be the first great. "Because records are set once and after that everyone else works to break them". The only thing better than breaking an already existing record is to set a new one. It does not matter in what field you are standing. It matters however how impressive you make it to the top. It does not matter in what field you are setting the record. It matters however how impressive you set the record in that field.
I would caution you to be good nonetheless. Because if we lose our souls in the pursuit of greatness there's no quantifying the magnitude of our loss.
More so I say "don't work to be a record breaker, work to be a record setter".
