Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber
That's quite a name! :D
So, there you have my impression of a frog on a violin... and the thoughts that went into creating it! Apologies for the bad sound recording (and the toddler..) and the funny angle photos... it was all done on a phone.
Very cool. I didn't understand a lot of the technical stuff as I'm not a musician, but I enjoyed your presentation! It does sound a lot like a frog indeed. Also was that your kid in the background? Super cute! Heh.
The concept of making these "frog" sounds are so alien to many of my colleagues... and this is in a piece that gives you complete license to make this UGLY sounds! However, a quick search (and the shocked reactions from some colleagues...) show that most musicians won't be brave enough to do it... it is a sad thing, when a piece that is meant as a funny showcase for making tricks on the violin is taken so seriously that a musician can't throw aside their fear of judgement and make a horrible sound!
That's a shame indeed. I can empathize to a degree in other areas besides music as I'm not in that field and it's unfortunate when people try to conform too much to the status quo so to speak and don't free themselves more to explore the diversity and spirit of life in such manner.
Cool entry bengy! Quite creative and interesting. Music is such a fascinating artform. Thanks for sharing!
Agreed, there needs to be a good balance of conformity and daring to break out... too much of either ends up being disastrous in the long run in different ways!
Yes, that was my youngest child in the audio clip... I had to do the recording at home on a day that she was around... I think she was a bit surprised by the sound!
