Last time I was telling about how such a big client found me and some things about first illustration creation process for this calendar.
Here goes next illustration for this project. Entertainment and active recreation store opening. First customer is entering almost like Freddy Merqury. It seems that they ordered one illustration here but you can see around 18 different stories inside. That is why you never can tell for sure how much one illustration for a calendar should cost. I am not a printer :) You can draw one big eye using whole layout or you can draw 50 eyes in different situations like here on the scene.
Here am I! Anybody home?
This illustration was done in two days. It was my personal record or achievement you can say. In the beginning I thought it is unreal to finish it even in five days.
Briefing in Ikea
The agency found me right in the process of moving to another house. Usually they send detailed brief via email and then there is a tradition to have a conference call with all the big team in Skype to tell same details by voice. Strange, huh? Spending precious time for such a calls is useless. Everything is already said in the brief and if you have questions you can realise it only by the time you start working.
Contunue sketching
Such a call hit me in Ikea when we was choosing working table, chairs and other things for the house. We are trying to find completely empty bright flats usually buying everything on our own. And when it is time to move the owners are buying everything we had because they just love our choice. That's why we have to buy this all again and again from time to time.
Sketch was more or less approved. They rushed me to start coloring. I had to finish this in one day.

Final
After tons of corrections they finally approved it. Most of the comment was directed to the main character. He was looking like Conchita Wurst first. I was laughing but my client was really angry that time. Then we corrected the posture a lot. And then his age... So this was the final. We had no time to continue this endless corrections. Had to move to the next illustration.

In the next post I will tell you about hit of this calendar. I will tell about detailed illustration which I finished just in four hours. This is my lifetime record.
