When flagged rewards get burned it helps everybody, not just the next post down the trending line.
I would like to think that if the community broke out their balls and their flags, it would deter others from abuse, because it would cost them money.
No, the community would rather whine and wait for someone else to fix the problem.
Doesnt make any sense to flag a dime from a 800sbd post if it just goes to the 799sbd post under it.
Once burning flagged rewards was normalized, i think more people would do it.
But nobody is listening to any ideas from the blacklist.
This is why it makes sense to me...
If 5 dolphins and a bunch of minnows flag it. It makes a dent big enough to hurt his financial gains. If they know people are watching and they will lose they will stop.
Im down with that, except that any flagged rewards just go to the next trending post.
They should be burned instead, then it makes sense to have used the vote power.
Otherwise we are peeing into the wind.
A better strategy against the bots may be to overbid them, then every buyer loses money.
Ive never done it myself, but ive been told its effective.
