My guess is that everyone of us has made a mistake similar to the one Frank made. A leading salesman in his company, he was on his way to an appointment with a top-tier prospect. He had checked his suit, brushed his hair, and straightened his tie.
Frank was confident that his appearance was highly professional--that is, until he looked at his feet as he was driving to the meeting. He saw this:
Yes. . .mismatched shoes! Fortunately, he had time enough to stop at a shoe store and buy a new pair.
JEAN NEEDED TOOTHPASTE
Then there was Jean. Her husband accompanied her on many of her speaking engagements. One evening she thought she had done exceptionally well in getting her ideas across to her audience. Yet her husband said: "You'd have scored better with the group if you had removed the spinach from your teeth after the conference dinner, just before they introduced you."
You can be sure that--even before I heard about Jean's embarrassing faux pas--I have brushed my teeth thoroughly before I stand to speak.

I'd say most of my big opportunities were ruined by big things lol
Been there, done that myself!
I'm sure, its par for the course when making our own way i suppose.
