Income Overview First Half of 2025....

in #income9 days ago

I've had a pretty decent start to 2025 in terms of my income, which is just as well because if I could pick one word thus far to describe 2025 it would be WORK!

Or really one word isn't enough, it needs three: Work, work and work!

OFC one major upside of working a lot, at least in my case, is that my income is looking very healthy, honestly I've been stocking up my SIPP nicely this month....

income overview Jan/ Feb 2025...

Unfortunately my blog and revision income are struggling a little. I have upped my post rate on the main blog and that's helped to level things, so rather than a steady decline I think I may have bottomed out, hopefully....

My TWO jobs have more than plugged the gap however, and that's not so bad as I did want to work, that was a goal back in late 2022 to get a job, I've done that, now twice over and they are quite literally paying off...

Here's the overview...

It all seems pretty balanced, and that's OK for now, my thoughts and hopes....

  • Blog ads - these are down a lot compared to the back end of 2022, but the decline has I think and hope levelled out. I've been a bit slack keeping the main blog up to date, that was even before I got my two jobs recently. I think it's really just larger companies with better economies of scale taking over my market share. It was always to be expected.
  • Revision resource sales - these along with the ad revenue (the source of sales is the same blog) are down, but not as much as the ad revenue. I really need to get these updated and more integrated with the blog.
  • job 1 - Constituency work - I'm only 2 days a week in this, and it's a job I enjoy with decent prospects for getting something else interesting, I'm gonna stick with this one as I can do it mostly remotely!
  • Job 2 - Citizens Advice - I'm half way through a six month contract and I will need to quit end of May, it's easy enough work, good on the CV, but it does take a lot of my time up at 2.5 days a week. OK for now, but not one for the long term!
  • Interest - actually at pushing 5% of my income this is a healthy amount! I don't have too much capacity to increase this as I'm sipping most of my excess ATM.

Final thoughts and looking forward...

From June, I need to spend at least a couple of months pushing the updates on the main blog, then see how it's going from there, I need to keep working 2 days a week min, this ius just about enough to keep the monkey off my back, I probs need 3-4 days a week being realistic.

I'll review again in August!

Having those multiple incomes ought to give you some security. I sometimes think I'd like more variety, but at this point it's not really viable.

I guess yr line of work is full-on enough! You probs don't need more diversity!

it needs three: Work, work and work!, that's four, lols.
A good review when it paying. It's a normal thing, when you are choked up, you will have to decline time for other things to meet up. Wishing you a greener review ahead of august.
