Hello, guys!
It's the Independence Day of Ukraine today, and there will be no stories but I have a lot of photos of Kyiv for you.😉 Usually, this day is a holiday and a weekend. But for the second year in a row, it's just a working day (not for me). In fact, it is still different from other days.
Yesterday was Flag Day. So today the city is all in blue and yellow colors. Summer is almost over and I hurry up to enjoy the nice sunny weather. I turned on a "tourist mode" today and went for a walk feeling like finding a few murals painted recently.
Yellow arch.
This mural appeared recently. It is dedicated to the drone operator.
Water supply company.
A flowerbed in the colors of the Ukrainian flag.
"Rise up in the dirt"
This mural was created in November 2017. The huge painting decorates the facade of the police headquarters building. It depicts a man who helps a flower to sprout from garbage. Can't believe it because it is very relevant today.
And you know, I read that this mural was named one of the best November (2017) murals in the world. Streetart.Today included the work of New York artist BKFoxx in a list of the seven best murals from around the world. Murals from Argentina, Australia, Colombia, Lithuania and France were also included in the publication's list. WOW! Why did I see it only today?
There is a dilapidated building across the street. Surprisingly, it was destroyed not by a rocket.
I really liked this street art.
Today, many people are dressed in embroidered shirts. This is our national tradition. Some patterns are traditional and ancient, and some are modern. I like them all.
Twice, police patrols came across, blocking the road for cars and pedestrians for a few minutes. Then cars with flashing lights drove by at high speed. Today, there are many foreign high-ranking officials in Kyiv.
This is another very popular location - the neighborhood of the Arsenal plant.
The photo shows the walls of the old building of the "Arsenal" plant, which were damaged by cannon and rifle shots. In 1918, fierce battles took place here.
The other buildings were restored and now are occupied by restaurants and "Kyiv Food Market" space.
Baron's castle
A castle in the heart of the old town, near the Golden Gate. Also known as Baron Steingel's house. At the end of the 19th century, Kyiv experienced a construction boom. It was then that this house was built. The townspeople thought it belonged to the entrepreneur and winemaker Baron Shteingel, but he just lives next door. And the castle house was built on the order of the Polish rich Pidhorskyi.
Gold on blue
This 19th-century mansion immediately catches the eye. I often photograph it because it is magnificent!
A plate hangs on the balcony with the image of Ukraine and the inscription "603 628 km2 of independence".
That's all for today. Enjoy your evening, and I have a watermelon and a glass of chilled Vinho Verde waiting for me. 😋💖
Cheers!
hard fought independence won and will never be lost
Slava Ukraini
Totally agree!
❤️ 👍
Happy Independence Day to all Ukrainians!
Praying for the day that the country will find peace again soon! 🙏
Thanks for sharing these beautiful photos 😊
Thank you so much! ❤️
Happy Independence day! What a great tour of the city. That is really cool that you have one of the 7 best murals in your city. It is really a great message. Loved the blue and yellow flowers and the traditional clothing too.
14th August was also the Independence Day of Pakistan and the people here celebrate this day very happily and decorate the whole country in a very good way and it brings a lot of humor to them. Because of the war, people there could not celebrate this day in this way, but we pray that in the coming year, all people will celebrate this day with joy.
I can only agree
Київ неперевершений у Ваших фото. Зі святом! 💙💛
Дякую і навзаєм!
Unfortunately, it is not very happy, but I would like to wish you a Happy Independence Day anyway. Cheers back to you, one day you will celebrate it again, I hope soon.
Hope so too. Thank you so much
Many congratulations on Independence Day. I hope the war between Russia and Ukraine will end soon and once again there will be peace all around.
Thank you. We all very much look forward to it.
Happy Independence Day to you and all Ukrainians. Sending love and light to guys, i pray your nation finds peace soon.
Thank you, @fredaa ! We all pray for this.
You're welcome, dear.
Yellow arch is really looking beautiful. If I would be there I will photograph myself. Oh I forgot to say "Happy independence day to Ukraine".
All love.
Thanks, @tahastories1!
This yellow arch has a story. Last year when the big war started, I came across the video on Instagram telling about colorful and bright arch that just appeared. People shared their survival stories and one of them showed this colorful arch as an idea of where to get positive vibes. All I knew about its location was the district. And when I saw it today it was like ... tadaaa! 😁
Thanks for taking us around Kyiv @zirochka, such a lovely city and I wish we can come to visit very soon. Enjoy your drink!
I heard different languages today in the streets - Turkish, English, French. And I recalled the HiveFest 2022 and your promise to came over when the war ends. 🥰 Back then I didn't thought it will last so long. But I still hope that you will come when it finally ends.
Oh, by the way, I took a few pictures for the LooLoo community 😁
Aww
The place looks do beautiful
Stay safe in Ukraine, my friend.
❤
Дякую за екскурс. В наших містах почало з'являтись багато муралів на стінах і вони реально красиві, а деякі заставляють навіть замислитись
Справді, мурали стають все більше витворами мистецтва
