The Election Commission has issued a show cause notice to Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee for commenting on Muslim voters and inciting voters against the central security forces. Mamata responded to the notice. The commission is not satisfied with the response of the Chief Minister. Therefore, his campaign was banned for violating the code of conduct.

During a public meeting at Chandipur in East Midnapore on March 26 and at a public meeting in Kochbihar on April 8, Mamata alleged that the Union forces were influencing the voters at the behest of the Union Home Minister. Girls are not allowed to vote. Showing fear. Threatening. Where did they get so much power? Who gave them power? We have arranged for them to stay and eat in Bengal. They are now coming to Bengal and beating our voters with sticks. '
So Mamata called on the central forces to confront her with handcuffs and pickaxes. He added, "If someone is kicked out of the booth, they have to answer. Five will surround them and five will vote. Don't forget, we will lose if we stop voting in the name of siege. So voting will continue along with the siege. '
